Land Acknowledgement

McDonald’s Canada would like to acknowledge the history of the traditional territory on which our central and regional offices stand.

Toronto: We acknowledge we are on the traditional territory of many nations including the Mississaugas of the Credit, the Anishnabeg, the Chippewa, the Haudenosaunee and the Wendat people and are now home to many diverse First Nations, Inuit and Metis peoples.  Toronto is covered by Treaty 13 signed with the Mississaugas of the Credit and Williams Treaties signed with multiple Mississaugas and Chippewa bands, in the spirit of peace, friendship and respect.

Montreal: We acknowledge the land we are on is the traditional territory of the St. Lawrence Iroquoians, Mohawk, Huron-Wendat, Haudenosaunee Nations. A place which has long served as a site of meeting and exchange amongst nations

Vancouver: We acknowledge we are on the unceded traditional territories of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh Nations, whose historical relationships with the land continue to this day.

We extend our respect to all First Nations, Inuit and Metis people for their valuable past and present contributions to this land.  We also recognize and respect the cultural diversity the First Nations, Inuit and Metis people bring to all cities and across Canada.
